Classic Designs

For all the colors and excitement that each season brings to clothing and jewelry design, we will always have the classics to fall back on. 

I found a supplier who sells vintage jewelry components and I'm thrilled to say that I have since purchased some beautiful pendants. The pendants are so gorgeous on their own that I wondered how I could make a necklace in which the pendant would be the star and truly shine. The answer- pearls. In the necklace below, I used fresh water pearls and some complimenting crystal beads. 

 

I would describe the overall look of these necklaces as simple yet elegant. Sometimes, simple is best!

Every women should own a strand of pearls, a gold or silver bangle and a simple gold or silver necklace and earrings set. If you're able, a pair of diamond earrings or a tennis bracelet would be nice, too! Any of these pieces will never go out of style. What's even better, classic pieces can be passed down to future generations to wear and enjoy for years to come.

Spring Has Sprung!

It seems as if winter lasted forever but the snow is finally gone and the trees and flowers are beginning to sprout and bud. What a beautiful sight it is to see outside!

To celebrate the arrival of spring, I've made many lovely pieces with handmade lampwork beads. I find that with warmer weather and sunny days my creative juices begin to flow and jewelry making becomes fast and furious. I love working with lampwork beads and have come to love a few specific artists here in the US and a couple in Germany!

Here are some pictures of some of my most recent creations:

 

This necklace is a combination of lampwork beads, a sterling silver chain, bali beads and Swarovski crystals.

 

This collection of pink bracelets is so cheerful! I primarily used lampwork beads, natural stones and some Kazuri beads in these pieces, along with both sterling silver and copper.

This next collection of bracelets highlights many lovely shades of blue. Components include lampwork beads, bone beads and sterling silver. 

Finally, the picture above features one of my newest pieces that contains a lampwork focal handcrafted by glass bead artist Dora Schubert of Germany. The focal is complimented with amethyst beads, soft green Czech crystals and bali spacers.
