New Necklace Alert!

While browsing online recently, I came across a necklace that provided me with some serious design inspiration! Don't you just love it when you find something that inspires you to create something you've never imagined before? That was definitely the case with this necklace below:

Although similar to the piece I saw online, I've added my own twist to the necklace with a cooper Bali bead and some seed beads. The pendant is hung on a purple leather cord with a copper S-clasp. It's approximately 20 inches in length and it will definitely add some "wow-factor" to your wardrobe! Its price is $35.00.

Here is an up-close photo of pendant and seed beads.

Hope you like the new piece and may you all find inspiration in whatever you do!

What I'm Working on Now!

I hope that everyone is enjoying the wonderful summer weather that we're having this August! I love this time of year, what with all the beautiful greenery, fresh produce and of course, lazy summer evenings.

Even though we're not even mid-way through August yet, I'm already thinking about fall preparations! More specifically, preparations surrounding my annual fall LC Designs open house that I host every November. I'm stocking up on new beads and materials now, hoping to have lots of new jewelry for you all to browse in just three short months! Crazy how time flies!

In the meantime, I'm very excited to host a jewelry party for my niece Katie in two weeks' time. This will be the second time I've hosted a private jewelry party; the last one was in April, 2014 for Katie and her girlfriends. We had a great time and I'm happy to repeat the fun "girls' night" that we had last year! Who doesn't love spending an evening with good food, better wine and best friends?! (If you're interested in hosting your own LC Designs jewelry private party, comment below or send me an email to discuss possibilities!)

Here's a glimpse of some of my lastest designs- definitely a bit funky and a lot of fun! These pieces are precious metal clay pendants and I've made a few for necklaces and a couple of pairs of earrings, too.

Precious metal clay necklace pendants.
I call the pendant with the leather cord "Base no Treble" and its price is $135.00. I haven't yet decided how I'll hang the face pendant, but it will most likely be on leather. It will be priced when it's finished.
Precious metal clay earrings.
The earrings with the onyx dangles are notes on a scale and they are $45.00. The face earrings have already been sold but I just couldn't resist posting them here for you all to see; I love the design!

The earrings and the pendants are all art clay silver which is 99.9% silver and all have a patina finish. What's art clay silver? Here's a little description taken from artclayworld.com:

When Art Clay Silver is taken out of the package, it is a slightly moist lump of clay. The clay is composed of 1-20 micron sized silver particles, organic binders, and water . The clay is then molded into its desired generic shape, and dried. Once the clay is completely dry it can then be filed, carved, and sanded; after which it is fired with a gas stove-top, butane torch, or kiln. During the firing process, the organic binders burn away and the resulting silver particles "sinter", becoming denser and stronger. The burning away of binders and sintering of metal causes the piece to shrink 8-10% in overall size while retaining the original form. Once completely fired, the remaining piece is composed of 99.9% pure silver!

So, what do you think?

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week!
